Let’s face it. Your husband has a knack for getting on your nerves at times. And the funny thing is, he doesn’t always deliberately do it. It’s just how he is. Sometimes you let him go saying, “Aah, men will be men.” and shake your head in disbelief. But then again, there are times when your husband genuinely makes you go “Aww” and fills you with love for him.

So let’s face it, he’s not always useless. There is a reason that you love him.

1. He’s the first one to get up when the baby starts crying in the middle of the night

It’s 3 in the morning and you wake up to your baby crying incessantly. The only silver lining is that you know that your husband is taking care of it. So, if your husband gets up before you in these situations, count your stars because you’ve landed a good one.

2. He never says no to changing diapers

He never says no when you ask him to change diapers. He genuinely understands that taking care of the baby is a job for both the parents. While most dads do it begrudgingly, he does it not because he has to, but because he should.

3. He is loving, but firm with the kids

Your kids love him because he does not shy away from expressing his love for them, and they respect him because he is reasonable in the things that he allows the kids to do. A healthy, balanced mix of these two traits is extremely important. If your husband understands that only being loving is not enough, then that is a quality that you should be proud of.

4. He always makes the kids laugh

He’s great with the kids. He can always make them laugh, no matter how sad they are. He loves playing with them and they understand his sense of humour. Every now and then, you can see him laughing loudly with the kids. While seeing that only makes your love for him grow, you can’t help but feel a little jealous as well.

5. He tucks them in bed

He’s there to tuck the kids in bed each and every night. Most people underestimate the importance of this simple act. By tucking them in, he helps them feel safe when they go to sleep.

6. He’s always there at dinnertime

Dinner time is a family ritual that your husband never misses. He knows that he can’t be with the kids the whole day, which is why he catches up with them over dinner every night. He doesn’t want to miss out on the amazing things that you and your kids are up to each day.

So, if your husband does even 3 things out of this list, consider yourself lucky as you not only have a great husband but a great dad to your kids as well.
