Every mom wants their baby to stay disease free and happy. But we often worry that our babies would fall sick during bad weather, when all the bugs and worms seem to be attracted to your baby or when they are exposed to all the harmful pollutants in the air. No matter how much we try to protect them, they do tend to catch a cold or a fever every now and then.

By helping to build your baby’s immunity, they would be able to stay healthy and keep diseases at bay. You can do this by ensuring they drink enough water, get plenty of sleep every day and eat the right food. There are certain foods that can help boost your baby’s immunity. We have listed them below.

Ginger

It is widely known for its cold and cough curing properties. When had on a regular basis, it can also help prevent your baby from actually catching a cold. It can also cure digestive problems. If you introduced your baby to solid food at 6 months, you can introduce them to ginger when they turn 8 months old.

Carrot

Carrots contain high amounts of beta-carotene which is later converted into vitamin A by your baby’s body. Vitamin A helps maintain your baby’s vision and general development of the eyes. It is also beneficial for the growth and development of your baby.

Yoghurt

It is perfectly safe to introduce your baby to yoghurt when they are 7-8 months old. Some doctors do recommend starting your baby’s solid diet on yoghurt. Its cultures can help with your baby’s digestion. Also, yoghurt contains a lot of proteins that are essential for your baby’s growth. As long your baby is not allergic to it, you can feed him yoghurt on a regular basis – add some fruit or vegetables with the yoghurt.

Garlic

You can introduce your baby to garlic when they turn 7 months old. Garlic has many health benefits including improving a baby’s ability to heal their wounds. Include tiny chopped up pieces of garlic in your baby’s diet and wait to observe if there’s any allergy before feeding them garlic again.

Berries

Of course strawberries, blackberries and raspberries are good for your baby as they are a great source of vitamins and antioxidants. But these can only be introduced after your baby has been introduced to a whole lot of normal food. But here by berries, we are talking about the botanical term. Berries like bananas, brinjal, grapes and oranges are all great for your baby.

Papaya

Papaya has Vitamin C and B which are both beneficial for your baby. Vitamin B helps convert our food into fuel, allowing us to stay energized throughout the day. Vitamin C helps strengthen your baby’s immune system and helps fight infections and keep illnesses at bay. It also contains potassium and folate, good for the overall health of your baby.

Spinach

This is a super food that you must introduce to your baby as it is loaded with iron, Vitamin C, beta carotenes and antioxidants. They help to boost your baby’s immunity and ability to keep infections at bay.

Our baby’s health is so important to us. After all, our babies are only happy when they are healthy and there is nothing bothering them. By providing a well-balanced diet to your baby, you can help make their little bodies strong enough to fight against infections.
