The way mothers panic when your Father says “Company is coming!” can be absolutely thrilling. We have all been a witness to this amusing event. Here are a few hilarious thing mothers do while preparing for visitors.

1. An excuse to clean your room

When there are visitors coming home, all mothers seem to think they are going to want to come to your room in specific and check how spick you have kept your room. Do not try reasoning with your mother, as this will only anger her.

2. Bring out the best crockery!

You probably did not know such fine crockery existed at home, but they will conveniently pop out when guests are coming. Frankly, have you ever heard guests comment on “What beautiful crockery you have!”.

3. Fluff up the pillows

Mothers think it is important that the pillows on the couch are fluffy. Mother, it is going to get flat when the guests sit on the couch anyway.

4. Make the house look like no one lives in it

Mothers tend to end up cleaning the house so spick and span that it doesn’t feel like your house anymore.

5. Dust the fan

Indian mothers take a keen interest in cleaning the fans and the ceiling when guests are coming over. They will probably drag you along while doing the same because they need help with holding the chair in place.

6. Freak out!

The first thing your mother will most probably do is…. go on a rant. She will complain about not having enough time to put together a fairly presentable spread on the table, clean the house and be there in time to open the door for the guests! Surprisingly, she will manage to do all of the above.

7. My child is the most talented

Your mother will brag about your achievements to her guests, whether they are interested or not. That is, if you haven’t been a victim to a poetry recital already.
