Anniversaries were always reserved explicitly for couples only and a romantic dinner date at a common favorite place. But now it’s not just the two of you, but three (your baby too). So, how would you include your baby in your first wedding anniversary?

Here are 7 cute things that you can do on your first anniversary after having a baby.

1. Dinner date at Home

Outings on your anniversary may have been a normal thing before, but that’s not so anymore. There’s a third person to think about. You can drop your baby at your parents’ place if you want to go out alone without having any other distractions, but be assured that you are going to end up talking about your baby for most part of your dinner. So it is a better and more conducive plan to have a dinner date at home itself. You can cook or order something special instead of fussing about what to wear when you go out. The other advantage is that you can keep an eye on your baby while enjoying your dinner.

2. Make Your Wife a ‘Thank You’ Card

Mothers give us the miracle of life. Although there is no denying that fathers play a part in it too, there’s only so much pain that they actually have to go through. A mother on the other hand goes through nine months of pregnancy, a painful delivery, and months and months of recovery post the birth of your baby. She goes through all this without complaining. Does this not deserve a small ‘thank you’? It sure does. So fathers, make your wife a ‘Thank you’ card as a cute gesture for everything that she’s been through.

3. A Hotel Room Getaway

Before the baby came along, you might have had the tradition of going on small trips with your spouse. Since that isn’t possible anymore, you can create your own getaway for at least a couple hours. Arrange for someone to watch over your toddler while you and your spouse go book a hotel room. This can serve as a small trip where you can order in food and still be in the same locality with your baby. You can exchange your gifts, have some champagne and be back in time to put your baby to bed.

4. Baby Warming Ceremony

If you’re looking for a celebration and still don’t want to leave your baby alone with a sitter, then this is one of your best options. You can hold a small party at your own house as a baby warming ceremony. Good food, good wine, and the people you love around you is a good way to make sure your little one is not out of your sight.

5. Movie Time

A few hours away from your parental duties to watch a movie isn’t asking for too much. You can keep your baby home with their grandparents, but if you want your child with your, you can take them along. If you’re worried that it may be inconvenient at the movie theatre with your baby, choose a fun movie to watch at home. There’s no harm in choosing to watch a movie your child will enjoy too.

6. Turf and Candles

You don’t want to go out for dinner, but you don’t even want it to be as simple as a dinner at home? No worries. Have a romantic candlelight dinner on your terrace or balcony! That way, you can be within reach of your baby and whether or not you want to dress up is your choice.

7. Go Bowling and then Takeaway

Have some fun and take your little one bowling. Watch as they giggle when you and your hubby playfully try to defeat each other in a game. Be sure to pick up some Chinese or Italian takeaway before you hit home. This way, both you and your baby can have fun while celebrating in a low-key yet fun way.
