If I start to make a list of all the plastic items I see around me sitting in the comfort of my home, I know the count will surprise me. I also know that if you do the same exercise, the sheer number will surprise you too. While we are constantly torn between trying to figure out the extent to which plastic can harm not just our environment but also our daily lives, here’s what we do know:

Plastic is literally all around us and our babies. Their bottles and toys are all made up of them! So is this amount of exposure really safe for your little one? The simple answer is NO.
Studies suggest that chemical classes found in plastic such as bisphenols and phthalates may act as endocrine disruptors, which means they could potentially change the timing of puberty, decrease fertility, increase body fat, and affect the nervous and immune systems. These chemicals can leach from the plastic and into your baby’s food.
