Every pregnant woman is super anxious about delivery.Through vaginal delivery is a natural way, sometimes the babies need to be delivered by different methods. Every expectant mothers should be aware of different methods of delivery as follows-

1. Vaginal Delivery

Vaginal Delivery is that way of birthing when a baby is born through the birth canal of a woman’s body. In most cases, vaginal delivery does not require the assistance of epidurals or pain-relievers. The duration of the vaginal delivery usually lasts between 16-18 hours. Most doctors recommend vaginal delivery as it is safe for both mother and baby. Moreover, it does not include any complications, too.
With vaginal deliveries, the mother recovers soon from the stress and returns home sooner with their little ones. The chances of infection are lower in comparison to other ways of delivery.

2. Cesarean Section

Cesarean delivery or better known as C- section delivery is the process of baby delivery wherein the abdomen of the mother is surgically opened to bring out the baby from the mother’s uterus. Nowadays, most expecting mothers prefer to go with C-section delivery to ease out the complete delivery process. However, this choice may not be available to every expectant mother unless the doctor does not feel any requirement of the Cesarean delivery.
In general, a C-section delivery is advised by a doctor when the sonography report says the baby is in the breech position, or if there is a blockage in the birthing canal, or if the mother is giving birth to twins or triplets.

3. Forceps Delivery

Forceps delivery is a type of assisted vaginal delivery. But it is required in certain situations. Forceps delivery is a way to take out the baby from the birthing canal with the help of a tool called forceps. These forceps are used when the baby is stuck somewhere in the birthing canal and is unable to come out. Thus, forceps are used to pull the baby out. The obstructions could be small, but as the mother is tired and exhausted by pushing the baby out, forceps are used.

Forceps are the specially designed tongs that are softly inserted into the the birth canal and gently grabs the baby’s head to guide him out.

4. Vacuum Extraction

Similarly, like forceps delivery, vacuum extraction is used when baby has stopped moving out further down the birthing canal. The vacuum pumps are not like the regular suction but are specially designed for the delivery purpose. The vacuum has a soft cup which is placed on the top of the baby’s head to gently guide the baby outwards through the birth canal.

Birthing options have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, the focus should always be on the mother’s and her baby’s safety. If the delivery process is not conducted properly, it may leave a deep affect on the baby as well as on the mother. Thus, to stay on the safer side, it is always advisable to follow your doctor’s advice as she is the one who knows what is best for the baby and for you too!
