In a conversation with BabyChakra, Banashree shares about her journey as a mum and tells us how her life has changed ever since she won the BabyChakra MomStar

Here’s All That You Need To Know About This MomStar

Tell us about your influencer journey. How did it all begin?

So my journey started around three and half years back, when my son was a year old. That’s when I started with my small venture; Cuddles and Chuckles and with that started my influencing journey. However, I have been blogging since 2014 for websites, and I have written for magazines as well like fashion magazines.

What’s your venture Cuddles and Chuckles all about?

So Cuddles and Chuckles is all about milestone boards for most of the occasions like basically for birthdays, and you know milestones for your babies like monthly milestones that you do.

Am sure a lot of mums would love to get tips on becoming your own boss. Can you tell us what it takes to be your own boss?

If you want to be your own boss, live for yourself and do what you feel is right for you, and not what others feel is right. You don’t have to prove to the world you have to prove to yourself so you have to make the right choice to be your own boss.

Coming back to social media and its influence. How do you think it’s impacted kids?

If you talk about the impact on my child, it has really not impacted that much because he’s too young to still understand that much, but yes I do find that he is more mature than his friends of his age.

What do you think are the do’s and don’ts about posting information and pictures about your kids on social media?

As of now, my son wants me to post his photos on social media and he doesn’t like it if I click pictures with others. But gradually as he grows older, I will definitely have to take his permission to post pictures because many times kids don’t like being on social media. So obviously I will ask him if he is interested in me taking up the collaboration with him. I think it’s okay to post pictures of your children with you, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to post all information about your children on social media.

We see a lot of mums handling Instagram accounts of kids who can barely even talk, and also kids who gyrate to Bollywood numbers, the lyrics of which they don’t understand. What do you have to say about that?

Frankly speaking I really don’t like making an account for kids on Instagram. And having said that, I would really not want my child to do the reviews which are meant for adults, nor  content which the child is not suitable for kids. I don’t want my child to do such kinds of reels.

With kids having access to phones and the internet, what are the steps you take with your son, to ensure that it doesn’t impact him negatively, and how do you keep him away from it?

I make sure that Veer is not on Instagram on my phone. He mostly uses my phone to watch his favourite show Peppa Pig. I also stay away from content which would impact him negatively, so all that you have to do is you have to be stern with your child when it comes to watching stuff on social media that’s not meant for them.

What are the things you do differently with your son?

The things that I usually try to do differently with Veer is I try to give him knowledge which will help him, like when he asks for something I give him the proper answer and speak to him like an adult and not baby talk to him. For example, when he asked me about some green liquid coming out of the car, I did not give him any random answer, like we usually tend to give kids,  I told him that it’s a coolant. Talking sense with the child is very important.

How has your journey as a mom been so far?

Being a mom is really not an easy task or a cakewalk. So yes I had mixed feelings. There are some good days; most of the days are rather good. But yes, I have my downs too, when I feel I am also done with it! But all in all if I see this is the best gift I ever. What I am today is because of my son, so I thank him most for everything that I am today.

Tell us about your experience as a MomStar of Baby Chakra

So if I talk about my journey as a Mumbai MomStar of Babychakra in 2019, it was a fantastic feeling when I won this. I was on top of the world and then the way BabyChakra treated me like a queen and the pampering that I got from them, making me feel like a star, it was a first time for me. It was just fantastic, it can’t be expressed in words. You just need to feel that moment and I still cherish that day till date.

How did winning the title change your life?

Winning the title actually gave me fame which I really loved. People started recognising and knowing me that’s the best thing BabyChakra could have ever done for me.
