Does your baby scream or cry during bathtime? As a new parent, bathing your little one can sometimes be a nerve-wracking experience. While bathing a baby may seem like an easy task, it’s not always as easy as it seems.

However, you can make your baby’s bathtime fun by adding some fun bath games. We’ve listed some tips to make bathtime a memorable experience for you and your baby.

7 Fun Bath Games To Bond With Babies

1. Puppet Show

If you are looking for some bathtime fun with your baby, you can draw up a puppet show. Use a bath mitt that is brightly coloured and get creative by making different voices and sounds to play different characters.

Babies begin to see colours clearly between the ages of five to eight months. So using colourful bath mitts can entertain them while keeping them engaged so they’re just in a happy mood.

2. Bring on the Bubbles

Use a mild shampoo to create a bubble bath as it is baby-friendly and safe to use for your baby’s skin. Watch your little one squeal with delight as he/she enjoys the bubble bath. You can find tons of styles of wands that blow out different sizes of bubbles. So pick them and let your child explore.

3. Peek-a-boo

The classic peek-a-boo game never gets old. It is easy to play anywhere and anytime so why not include it in your baby’s bathtime? No matter how you play this game, it helps to stimulate your baby’s senses and improves visual tracking. Play this delightful game by covering your little one’s feet or hands while washing them. Then reveal the body part with a “boo!”

4. Name the Body Parts

This inventive game does not require anything else other than a washcloth and soap. Point out different body parts and ask your toddler to name them and then proceed to clean them. You can also ask them to point out where their nose or feet are and let them clean them on their own. You can also ask your baby which body part are you cleaning to make them a part of the entire process. Then apply a baby-safe and talc-free powder once you’re done.

It’s also a brilliant way to let them learn the names of different body parts while having their share of bathtime fun.

5. Sensory Stimulation Games

Sensory stimulation involves the activation of one or more senses which include smell, vision, touch, hearing, and taste. Young babies tend to develop physically and emotionally from sensory stimulation games. You can use different textures during their bathtime to entertain them. Let them touch sponges, washcloths, or even a safe plastic baby mirror and baby bath books.

6. Sing Songs and Rhymes

Music helps to soothe babies and when they hear you sing to them, it will calm them. Sing a rhyme or song and try making your little one involved in it too by moving their hands and arms as you sponge them. You can even make up a rhyme and watch them giggle.

7. Racing Track

Use the tub to make a race track and bring your little one’s cars and other toys into the bathroom. Make them race along the bathtub’s edge while you clean them. You can even tag along by racing against each other. Obviously, let your little one win because they deserve that bathtime fun.

Bathtime is a great way to bond with your child and these bathtime ideas are sure to add fun to your baby’s bathtime!
