Insider Club Mum Nupur Gupta Tells Us Why Discipline Helps Kids

The role of parents in a child’s life cannot be put into words. They have a crucial role to play in the process of promoting and supporting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of a child.

Mum Nupur Gupta, a member of the Insider Club talks about how she creates a positive learning environment and uses assertive discipline to raise her daughters, Ruhanshi and Tanishi.

Tell us something about yourself.

I am a mother of two adorable daughters and a part-time influencer. I love to put creative ideas into play and enjoy what I have been doing.

Parenting is the beginning of a new era. How has been your parenting journey?

This is a learning phase for me and I am trying to enjoy every phase of it. Every day I have been learning how to be patient and how to spend more and more time with my daughters.

Celebs like Kunal Kemmu, Soha Ali Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are in favour of equal parenting. What are your views on equal parenting?

I strongly believe in equal parenting. My husband is very supportive and has helped me, from changing diapers to taking care of the children he helps me with everything.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan thinks that friendship is the key to successful parenting. Do you follow a friendly approach while raising your little one?

Yes, I completely agree with that. I always maintain a friendly approach with my daughters. When my elder daughter returns home from school, both of us discuss how her day was at school and what did she like the best about her day.

In addition to this, I believe in, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.” That is why I always teach my daughters to be disciplined so that they can be motivated and keep blooming.

Last week was breastfeeding week. Tell us about your journey.

Unfortunately, I was not able to breastfeed my daughters due to my health conditions. They have been dependent mostly on formula milk.

But I feel that breast milk is the best source of nutrition for babies, especially in the initial years. Mothers should try to breastfeed their babies exclusively till the time both of them decide to switch to weaning.

Since parenting is a learning phase for all of us, it is important to trust your instinct. There are times when we might feel that we are wrong and feel guilty about it. But it is important to keep in mind that we are all learning every day as parents.
