The mum-to-be has also openly talked about how pregnancy is not a flawless journey, and while there are days when you feel great, on others, you may find yourself struggling with different pregnancy symptoms and bodily changes.

Recently, Malvika sat down for a fun-filled and enlightening conversation with @missmalini, and shared some interesting perspectives from her pregnancy journey. She talked about how pregnancy has made her become a “braver person” and shared how this phase has changed her life completely.

Read on as we bring you more details from her candid conversation with Malini Agarwal, (TV host and entrepreneur) and how the mum-to-be is gearing up for the most special role in her life.

On How Pregnancy Changed Her Life As An Individual

While giving a glimpse into her pregnancy journey, Malvika revealed, “The mom phase has definitely changed me and given me a new sense of courage. I didn’t think I had so much strength and bravery in me, and it just gave me a newfound respect for all mums.”

She also stated that sometimes she feels that the strength and grit of mums are undermined, and added, “ I am so grateful for this journey, because it is going to get me out on a stringer side, and not only in the mum area, I feel like I have become stronger in my creation, I have become stronger in my relationships, and also as who I am.”

Malvika also revealed that the various changes that she experienced during her pregnancy journey, such as inculcating so much courage really made her retrospect on certain things in life and self-reflect too.

On What’s Worked To Keep Her Uplifted On Days When She Felt Low

While pregnancy is a wonderful experience, it has its own set of lows, which can take a heavy toll on your emotional and physical health. Talking about one of the things that helped her cope with the lows of pregnancy, Malvika shared, “I would run back to content creation. When I find that I am feeling really low, I dive into the content creation process.”

She revealed that the other activities that helped enhance her mental well-being during pregnancy included reading, watching videos, and learning something new. She also added, “If I am going through something very specific, I try listening to motivational speakers to get a new perspective.” She also recommends reaching out to people who can show you the way, and be the light for you.

On Reading Pregnancy Books, And Her Personal Picks

Malvika shared that she loves reading in general, and had downloaded four pregnancy-related books when she got to know that she was expecting. One of the pregnancy books that she recommends to fellow expecting mums is “What to Expect When You Are Expecting.”

The mum-to-be however, revealed that books can sometimes cause an information overload, and make you overwhelmed, and stated, “I prefer watching videos. I am a visual person. So I feel like watching a lot of videos of mums talking about pregnancy has helped me more than reading books.”

On Her Favourite Exercise Routine Throughout Pregnancy

It’s crucial to stay active throughout pregnancy as it helps soothe your body aches and pains, and also encourages faster recovery postpartum. Talking about her favourite exercise routine, Malvika stated, “I am doing a lot of workouts, at least twice a week, I am lifting weights, I am doing lunges, and squats.”

She also reassures expectant mothers by saying, “Everything stays the same guys. I have always been a workout junkie, and the only thing that’s changed now is that I am working out with a belly.”

Additionally, Malvika spoke about the importance of staying active throughout pregnancy, and added, “It’s essential to move your body, to strengthen your pelvic muscles, and for everything that has to come. This also helps your body recover and get back to its old-self post-pregnancy.”

On The Most Enjoyable Part Of Being Pregnant

The mum-to-be shared that her shoots were the one thing that she enjoyed the most during pregnancy. “I get to take my bump everywhere, and I get to take a picture, and then you realise, there’s an actual human being growing in your belly,” she added.

While speaking about her unreal her pregnancy journey has been, Malvika stated, “I just can’t fathom the fact that there is a human being inside of me. The thought of creating something in your body, and just prioritising yourself is kind of special.”

On Her Pregnancy Tip For All Mums-To-Be

Talking about the one thing that she wants all expectant mothers to stop doing, Malvika stated, “Stop judging yourself! There’s constant judgment, insecurity, and comparison, it is a never-ending trail. But it is okay to relax, feel your feelings, don’t hide your feelings, talk it out, fall back on people because they are there to help you.”

She also added, “You are your biggest strength, the more you look back on it, this entire journey, you will know that you gave yourself enough strength to make it through the entire pregnancy. So you did it, and you are doing it as we speak. So don’t sell yourself short, you are creating a human and another organ, which is the placenta, and you know that, and nobody can do this for you. It’s an empowering journey, so embrace it and stand up for yourself when you have to.”

Pregnancy is indeed the most empowering phase in every woman’s life. To make your pregnancy journey smoother, we have listed a few handy tips in the next section.

3 Essential Tips To Make Your Pregnancy Journey Smoother

  • Create a birth plan: A detailed birth plan is the best way to describe what’s most important to you during pregnancy. You can chart your labour and delivery preferences and share it with your healthcare provider.
  • Pay attention to your pregnancy stages: While every pregnancy is different, there are some standard symptoms and changes that you may experience during the three trimesters. Pay attention to each one of them so that you can report to your doctor if you notice any abnormalities.
  • Be kind to yourself: This is a crucial phase in your life and you need to pay special attention to your physical and mental health. Carve out some time for relaxing activities, engage in positive self-talk, and take care of your mental well-being.

Conclusion

As Malvika rightly put it: you are enough mama, and you are doing enough. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your pregnancy journey without stressing about what people around you are saying. Most importantly, take care of your overall well-being and indulge in activities that make you happy, and help you cope with the lows of this journey.
