As working mothers, women need their partner’s support in raising their children and making time for everything that they want. Hence, partners need to work as a team to support their child and manage things both at work and at home.

In a candid interview with BabyChakra MomStar Komal T Singh shares her choices in raising her child, her professional life, family and partner. She also shares her efforts behind winning the MomStar title.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a strong-minded person and sensitive as well. It’s a lethal combination! I don’t care about people’s opinions. My family and friends matter to me the most.
I took a break for two years to care for my son and joined Adobe last year in April 2021.

2. Please tell us about your profession / full-time content creation journey.

I joined back work last year and I am working with the Adobe Social team now. It’s a global team where we handle customers’ complaints on different social platforms and handle quality and insights projects.

3. How do you manage motherhood and content creation/job?

I have just started blogging and it’s fun. I create videos with my son and shoot his daily activities. I love to capture his reactions and milestones.

Komal finds juggling between content creation and her full time job as she passionately devotes herself into both

4. How was your pregnancy journey? Did you face any challenges?

It was pretty smooth thankfully, I didn’t have morning sickness or a lot of mood swings.
I had a great time with my family and friends and had two baby showers on the same day. My husband and his friends arranged a surprise baby shower for one of my closest friends and me because we both were due.

I wanted a normal delivery and tried. But due to complications and after hours of pain, it was not possible, so I had to go for a C-section.

5. Husbands play a crucial role in bringing up a child, what are your views on equal parenting? How has your hubby helped you co-parent?

In my opinion, becoming a parent is the greatest joy one can have, and we must be mentally prepared for the same. My husband and I discussed most of the possibilities we have to manage in advance but of course, didn’t cover everything. Every child is different, so the tricks for every child are different too. The suggestions that would work for your kid won’t be the same for others.

I still remember he used to take our son in his hands and do squats to calm him down when he cried, and it helped us! It’s important to give time to your little one but it’s also important to spend some quality family time.

My husband (Puneet) is very supportive and is always ready to help and takes ownership of things he is good at. If he doesn’t know something, he is prepared to learn. He helps RV with school homework, bathing, feeding and so much more.

We are both working, so he works from home when I have to go, and I work from home when he has to go. Thanks to the hybrid mode!!

Komal and her husband Puneet raise their son by dividing the roles and responsibilities equally

6. How has your relationship changed with your husband after becoming a parent?

We have both become more responsible now. Yes, we don’t get much time together because of our schedules and responsibilities, but we always talk, and if we don’t have the bandwidth to talk, we usually send messages if anything is urgent or we just need to talk. Communication is the key to any relationship, and we have that!!

My husband is also very understanding. For example, my son’s name is Rajveer Singh Vig which has a part of my name in it along with his dad’s last name. While it’s not a big deal, not everybody accepts it. My husband and my family accepted and respected my wish.

7. What was your motivation behind participating in MomStar? Why did you feel you were the right choice to win?

It’s a great platform for all mums and every mum is a star. It’s great if a mum can get recognition. I’m a good fit because I’m a mum and I’m confident that I can connect with other mums and help them. I would like to let the world know that it’s fine to go back to work if you want and even if you do not want to. Do not judge yourself or feel guilty for the choice you make.

I’m trying to raise a man who respects and understands that everyone has a right to choose what they want.

Komal’s family is very happy about her win and Komal is positive that her son will learn to work towards his dreams too seeing her

8. How does it feel to be a MomStar? Tell us about your efforts and challenges.

It’s like a dream come true and a big win for sure. There were thousands of entries and I won. My friends and I kept posting until the last day and requested followers/ friends to vote. I helped a few of them with how to post and add the link and share too.

9. How did your family react when they found out you won?

They are really happy!! In fact, they are happier than me. Needless to say, a family loves you unconditionally, and my family members are proud of every small and big success of mine.

This one is big for me, and indeed it’s more significant for them. They are really proud of me and have been sharing it with everyone. I can see the happiness, and it’s the same that I have in my eyes.

10. Last year’s MomStar winner Banashree Gala got a lot of fame and continues to create engaging content. How do you think winning this title will change your life?

I have just started blogging and it’s an excellent opportunity. I’m sure it will help me grow. I love making reels and will be creating and sharing more engaging content.

11. What are your professional plans now that you won MomStar?

I will be more focused on creating and sharing the content and definitely will be using the winning title. This title is going to help me a lot in terms of reaching out to other mums. I feel I have a responsibility toward society and my son after winning this title.

12. How do you think your win will positively affect your child’s outlook on life?

Who doesn’t want a famous mum? In my opinion, a happy mum can keep the child happy and winning this title boosted my happiness to the next level. If one is happy and has a positive attitude it allows you to be more productive at work as well as in the house.

People who have a positive attitude often set goals and achieve them. They believe in their abilities alone and tend to overcome obstacles. The child will benefit from a positive environment in the house and will learn to set and achieve goals from a very young age.

Komal T Singh is inspiring and breaks the stereotypes when it comes to being a mum and partner. Her motivation toward winning and living life is indeed commendable. We congratulate her for winning the MomStar title.
