“We understand the needs of parents looking for safe technology to ensure their child’s safety.”

A few years ago, Smridhi Goyal, a mother of two, attended a carnival in Delhi with her daughter. For a short period of time, she lost sight of her daughter. In that fleeting moment, this mother’s entire world turned upside down.

This incident urged Smridhi to seek a solution that could assist parents in ensuring the safety of their children. She conducted thorough research on child safety and discovered a pressing need for a product that could enable parents to track the whereabouts of their children consistently. This is where Sekyo came into the picture, a company that Smridhi and her husband, Amit, launched to develop phone-tracking smartwatches designed specifically for children.

Speaking to YourStory about the genesis of Sekyo, Smridhi shared, “As parents of two young girls, we understood the needs and concerns of other parents who were in search of secure technology to safeguard their children. Through Sekyo, our aim is to assist parents in tracking their children’s location in real-time—anytime, anywhere—and maintain a constant connection with them.”

Discussing the features of the watches in the same interview, Smridhi explained, “Sekyo’s watches showcase a range of tracking solutions and parental controls. These watches are SIM-enabled, synchronised through a dedicated app on the mobile phones of parents or guardians, and function as complete standalone phones.”

Since its inception in 2020, Sekyo has experienced an exponential growth trajectory, with the startup consistently achieving a remarkable 20% month-on-month increase in its user base.

Due to her exemplary contributions as a technology leader, Smridhi has been awarded the ‘Technology Entrepreneur of the Year’ Award by Jagran New Media.
