As new parents, everything your baby does may seem scary to you. You want your baby to feel happy, safe and comfortable at all times. They cry to you for everything because you two are the only ones s/he knows can solve their problems. But do we have to worry about every single thing? Does this happen to all babies or is something wrong? Is a doctor’s consultation necessary? Will the baby be fine?

Here are some bizarre yet completely normal and common things that happen to babies all the time.

1. Hic… Hic… Hiccups!

You don’t have to worry about the hiccups. They happen to babies all the time. Experts don’t know the exact cause of hiccups nor how to get rid of them but they know it is nothing harmful. The hiccups will go away on their own so just relax.

2. The constant crying 🙁

Babies tend to cry all the time because that is the only way for them to communicate to you that they need your help. This means that every time s/he feels scared, hot, cold, hungry, sleepy or if his/her diaper needs to be changed, s/he will cry in order to call you. If nothing you do is able to pacify your baby, you should take it up with a doctor.

3. Ah-choo! So much sneezing

It is perfectly normal for a newborn baby to sneeze a couple of times. This happens because their tiny bodies are adjusting to their new surrounding. They just got out of their womb where they were surrounded by fluid so they will naturally get feel a little congestion.

4. Blood in your newborn girl’s diaper! :O

As strange as it may seem, it is common for a newborn baby girl to have a mini period in their first week of life. This is not something to be alarmed about. This happens because of the increased levels of estrogen that was produced by her mother while still in the womb.

5. Pimples on their face.

Due to the mother’s hormones that are still circulating in the baby’s body, babies may get a bit of acne during their first 2 months of life. This happens to many babies around the world and is again, nothing to worry about. You simply have to gently clean their face regularly.
