It’s that time in your life when all your actions affect not one, but two lives – yours and your baby’s. The nine months that the baby spends in your womb is a precious period in your lives and one that you’ll remember forever. Everything you do, eat, drink needs to be done keeping in mind that you’re going to feed the same to your baby too!
So, what are some easy-to-make mistakes that every to-be-mommy does? Here are 7 big ones that are a definite no-no!
Pregnant women must not let too much time pass between meals, and even worse, not skip meals! You need to take small meals about 3 – 5 times in a day, and with foods rich in proteins, like eggs and crude vegetables.
Yes, we totally get your crazy cravings, but no, we need you to keep it in check! An occasional crunchy snack or a midnight ice cream is absolutely okay, but having junk food like burgers and pizzas too often is harmful for both you and your baby.
Caffeine is very easy to get addicted to, but go easy on your caffeine intake till your baby is out of you. Try green tea or lemon tea, which are healthy alternatives.
Not drinking enough water is not just affects your health, but can cause serious complications during your pregnancy. In fact, doctors advise increasing your water intake when you’re pregnant!
After all that you do in a day (even if you don’t actually do anything) for your baby, you need that rest and sleep. Your body needs time to recover and rejuvenate every day! Go get that beauty sleep, woman!
It’s okay if you don’t train for a marathon – you’re neither expected to nor advised to! But the bare minimum activity is required for your body to remain in shape for you to deliver a baby. You may even end up with blood clusters, varicose veins and leg inflammation. Basic activities like yoga and even walking for a few minutes can go a long way.
Well, this one’s a no-brainer! You must keep away from these two habits at least while you’re carrying a baby inside of you. Your baby consumes everything you do – and the last thing you want your baby to have even before it is born is alcohol.
