“ meal plan for 1 year old babies”.

By the age of 1 year (12months) mostly many babies have few teeth and are mostly familiar with all the food textures and tastes and can eat their food like a pro. You can now slowly start giving normally mashed food with hands.

By 1 year all the babies will start having 3 to 4 meals per day and it gets very confusing for a new mom to come up with different items to feed. Make sure you are adding variety of options colours and textures throughout the day to keep them interested in eating a variety of food. You can start giving all the food that’s being cooked at home for your family to get them adjusted to the family food.;

I am sharing a weeks meal plan with 4 meals a day.;

>>REMEMBER,Your baby’s tummy is still a size of your fist so keep a check on the quantity. Follow your baby’s clue and stop when they start turning their mouth to avoid over feeding.

DAY 1:-

**breakfast:- idli, chutney,milk

**lunch:- kofta curry, chapati, rice, dal, salad

**snacks:- vada, fruits

**dinner:- palak khichdi, curd, salad

DAY 2:-

**breakfast:- aloo paratha,curd (if you giving curd avoid giving milk)

**lunch:- moong dal curry, chapati, rice, salad

**snacks:- poha, milk

**dinner:- paneer paratha, chutney/ ketchup, soup

DAY 3:-

**breakfast:- wheat pancakes, milk

**lunch:- aloo curry, puri, curd rice, salad

**snacks:- methi paratha, juice

**dinner:- dal fry, rice, thepla, salad

DAY 4:-

**breakfast:- vermicelli upma, milk,;

**lunch:- paneer curry, paratha, dal fry, rice, salad

**snacks:- carrot puri, fruits

**dinner:- vegetable pulao, chaas, salad;

DAY 5:-

**breakfast:- bread jam, milk

**lunch:- channa masala, chapati, kichadi, curd, salad

**snacks:- appam, fruits

**dinner:- chole, puri, salad

DAY 6:-

**breakfast:- masala puri,milk

**lunch:-; mix vegetable curry, chapati, rice, sambhar, salad

**snacks:- masala idli, fruits

**dinner:- dal, jeera rice, sabzi, salad

DAY 7:-

**breakfast:- palak chapati, milk

**lunch:- rajma curry, chapati ,rice, salad

**snacks:- poha, juice

**dinner:- mix vegetable cutlet, soup, salad, papad

Few points to keep in check:-

** if they keep rejecting some food over and over, its ok your baby doesn't like it and it’s ok. We all have some food we don’t like, respect them and don’t force feed.

** keep the baby in booster chair or high chair so they don’t run around and choke over some food.

** I add salad in every big meal to make sure they are getting used to eating vegetables.

** make sure you feed first and then give milk so their tummy is not full with milk.

** put less salt in their food and make their food more tasty by adding natural flavors like jeera powder, lemon, curry leaves.

** if they are turning their mouth and don’t want to eat do not force feed, if you feel they have not eaten properly try to offer again after sometime.
