Sleep talking is saying positive and affirmative sentences when your child is in deep sleep. It targets child’s subconscious mind to make changes just like how hypnotherapy works. Sleep talking is about talking 2-5 mins with your baby at night after they are fast asleep

Every child is different and there are some struggles with every child that we are not able to address despite trying multiple things.

It can also be helpful when kids are experiencing change, for example starting school, moving house, changing school, sibling rivalry, new siblings, and parent separation.”

If your child is struggling with confidence, anxiety, or just needs help learning a new skill try sleep talking

I’ve tried it for weaning from breastmilk, toilet training, preparing for school, trying to make him a bit social, sleep regression, food rejection, brushing his teeth, sharing toys and the list goes on..

Whisper positive affirmative statements in the gentlest way once they fall asleep.

It has to be done within 5-10 minutes of falling deep asleep.

Try to address 2-3 problems at a time and not more.

Start with saying you are, for example " Hi baby! This is Mumma, keep sleeping"

1. Focus on behaviour you want to change

2. Talk about the habits you want to improve

3. Be consistent

4. Always start on a lovely note

5. Talk and communicate with baby in present tense

Correct Affirmation:

Dharm always talks softly

Incorrect Affirmation: “Dharm does not talk loudly.”

1. For example, if your kid does not like to brush his teeth, then you can say “You are a very good boy who likes to brush your teeth”.

2. If your kid is throwing a tantrum every day you can say “You are a very good girl. You like to be happy”.

3. For being social you can say, “You love sharing toys with others and love to play with other kids”

Some transitions and stress in life are very difficult to handle even for adults which is then seen in our behaviour and actions.

The same happens with kids, smaller kids are unable to express themselves which makes it more difficult. Lets not blame their behaviour and try to address the situation in a calm and positive way.

Start using the positive sleep talk with your kids right away. We can help our kids in more ways than we can comprehend
