Kothimeera Thalimpu Kuura , this is the dish name in telugu. Since Childhood, I love this food made by my mom. Recently, I tried doing this dish myself and it came out nicely. So, thought of posting the recipe here.
Main Ingredients : 1. 4 fist ful of Corriander leaves and tender stem (I used 2 medium sized Corriander leaves bunch) 2. small lemon sized Tamarind 3. 3 tea spoons of chilli powder 4. A pinch of turmeric powder 5. Little bit of salt if chilli powder is not mixed with salt.
Ingredients for Seasoning : 1. 1 tea spoon of cumin seeds 2. 1/2 tea spoon of mustard seeds 3. 2 tea spoons of urad dal 4. 2 red chilli 5. 4 tb spoon oil
Recipe :
Step 1 : Pluck the Corriander leaves and tender stem from the bunch of Corriander leaves and set it aside. (U can use scissors or do it by hand). Cut the stem into small pieces (appr 1 inch size)
Step 2 : Grind red chilli powder and tamarind in mixer and set it aside
Step 3 :Pour oil in the pan and add mustard seeds once oil is heated. Add remaining seasoning ingredients once mustard seeds are spluttered.
Once urad dal turns into reddish color, add corriander leaves to the pan.
Saute till the leaves get cooked. Once leaves are cooked, add pinch of turmeric powder and add salt only if the chilli powder do not have salt added.
Let the leaves fry in the oil, until they turn Dark green color. Make sure to separate the leaves with a wodden spoon in this stage. It will take 10 to 15 min.
While stirring now u will observe that Corriander leaves are fried, Now add Chilli powder mix prepared in step 2 and mix it.
Since it is crispy, u can eat it as a side dish with sambar or curd rice or Mix it with plain rice as well. As we add tamarind, curry will be tangy in taste and since it is crispy your kids will love it. Please do try and let me know how it tastes :)
