LESSONS I LEARNT AFTER MY FIRST FLIGHT JOURNEY !!

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I have travelled alone to US for the first time.

Incident during transit : I was in hurry to call my parents and inform about my where abouts. Unluckily, I was not able to connect to the wifi provided by Airport :(. I kept on searching for landline thru which I can call home. I found one PCO and looks like I need to use a calling card to use that PCO. Foolishly, I have asked the worker nearby reg the calling card. He gave his calling card as if he is some kind person. I called my parents for 1 min and finally am relieved. And , all he charged me for 1 min call was 10 US DOLLARS :( I had no other go, just handed over the money and ran to board the flight.

Lesson I learnt : 1. There are people who help/guide us by solving our queries. Do go to them. Not to someone whom u meet on the way.
2. Never take a decision in hurry.

Incident happened after landing : Once I landed in Dallas, my uncle messaged me that he is on his way to Airport and asked me to wait after collecting my baggage.
After collecting baggage, I just moved out of airport .. thinking that I can wait outside. It was teeth biting cold during that time. But still I managed to sit on a bench. See my plight here. Every cab driver passing by was passing weird looks and few dared to come near me and ask if I require some help. I was frightened at this point and assuming that I can not go back to airport (baggage collecting area), I moved into Car parking lot. Where in, I lost my wifi connectivity as well. My uncle was not able to contact me and after searching for me for long time, he found me.
Once I saw him approaching me, I was almost in tears and cried.

Lessons I learnt : Make sure you have the phone or wifi connectivity whenever u go to a new place.
Don't follow the herd and don't move out. Just wait wherever u are supposed to.

So true @616d8ed3ca67e40013aaf151 ! I remember my first solo trip internationally when in college. Critical to have these basic things in place or else traveling can seem so intimidating.
