There is so much panic about the minute particle called "Virus" which exists in this world, which has hampered the most evolved creatures in this world "Human beings".To add on to more turmoils there is a high spread of rumors globally.
In my article, I am striving to bust some myths to spread a positive vibe to the entire nation.
Everyone in this world is horrified about words used like quarantine, pandemic, and many more medical terminology used nowadays.
So, everyone please don't panic here is a small gist about the pandemic which has spread straight from Wuhan, China to the neighboring countries including India.
I have stated some common questions asked by my patients and provided authentic answers to them being a medical expert.
Q)What is Coronavirus? Coronavirus was first discovered in 1960, not in humans but in mammals causing respiratory infection in them. But in 2019 a new strain of coronavirus was discovered which first infected mammals specifically bats and got transferred into humans. This new strain is known as "Novel Coronavirus".
Q)What are the symptoms of Coronavirus?
The symptoms are fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, Chest pain.
Q)The symptoms of coronavirus are the same as of flu If I cough or sneeze does it mean I am suffering from it? (Many patients ask this question)
No, in flu or cold there is a runny nose too. This symptom is not present in Coronavirus. But if you suspect it, or have a travel history from infected region, consult your physician and let him decide.
Q)What is quarantine?
In cases of highly infected diseases hospitals isolate the patient in one cabin where no visitors are allowed, to avoid the infection passing on. Isolation doesn't mean deprivation, all medical facilities with food is provided and hospital staff is their 24/7 to take care of you.
Q)If sneezing is not seen in Coronavirus patients, then why the use of the mask is mandatory?
As the disease spreads through a droplet of the infected person or close contact, hence mask is made mandatory to stop the spread of this infectious disease. To be more precise the virus is present on the nasal passage of the infected person, so if he sneezes and a healthy person comes in contact, he might get infected.
Q)If I have coronavirus, will I die?
No, 80% of cases are cured. Only people above 60 yrs and children having less immunity are susceptible to higher risk. Young people are cured if they follow correct protocol advised by their physicians.
Q)How to be saved from this deadly virus?
-Stay at home avoid crowded areas.

-Take warm baths as this virus does is not heat resistant.

-Eat healthy avoid junk food, as you might get sick and indirectly your immunity will slow down and be susceptible to this disease easily.

-Avoid rumors, If you have doubt ask for authentic answers.

-Use alcohol sanitizer as this virus is highly sensitive to alcohol.

-If you or your relative suspect of this disease report to your physician for early and better treatment.

-Dont hide your travel history while consulting your physician.By this you will fail to receive proper treatment as well as end up risking physicians life too.
Q) Why the scientist didn't find any vaccines to date?
This strain of coronavirus is newly discovered. But clinical trials are running successfully. A vaccine will be soon discovered.
Q)Why so many people died of coronavirus?
-Many people out of fear don't report and hence the case worsens. This leads to severe respiratory disorders in which even medical fail to revive the condition. Hence leads to death.
That is why inform early as possible so that proper treatment will start recovering you back to normal.
These were some questions that I confronted from my patients on-call(As I am at home looking after my little one).
Don't panic.Stay safe.Be positive.This phase will pass soon.
If you have any queries do comment will be happy to help everyone as a medical expert and an online doctor.
With a positive note ending this questionnaire.
