#unedited #unfiltered It's not just this photo, it's about this post too. It's been long since I posted something meaningful. But Instagram has this constraint, you can't write your heart out unless you don't accompany it with a pretty picture.

.

Monday saw a whole galore of women's day special quotes, messages, and posts. HR flooded our emails with wishes, some got flowers and chocolates. As the day closed, the remaining wishes bade goodbye, and remained quietly folded in the corner of our hearts only to be revived next year.

.

What happens for the remainder of days? Life continues, the woman who got flowers throws the wilted ones in the dustbins where they meet the chocolate wrappers lying there from the previous day. The HR mails find their way to the deleted folder and the day goes on.

.

Does women's day come to an abrupt end? How do you define what makes women feel special? Do we, women want to feel special? Do we really need all the flowers and chocolates and a dedicated day to feel celebrated?

.

How do you continue to celebrate "a day" when girls continue to get raped, abused, and killed?

.

How do you continue to celebrate "a day" when a girl is expected to get married, bear kids, not have careers and expected to justify not having a career under the pretext of "stay at home by choice"?

.

How do you continue to celebrate "a day" when girls who have careers are labelled as negligent toward their kids?

.

How do you continue to celebrate "a day" when "stay at home dads" are rarest of the rare and moving towns, cities, states, or countries because of wife's job is so unheard of?

.

How do you continue to celebrate "a day" when in India, moving out of in-laws house is still a taboo? (I did that, I truly wish you all could.)

.

How do you continue to celebrate "a day" when it is mandatory to take on husband's family name after marriage? ( I didn't take his name.)

.

I have NO answers to these questions, do you? To all of you "HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY". Keep rocking, keep fighting.

.

Until then, I will TEACH MY SON HOW EVERY DAY IS A WOMEN'S DAY.

.

Love

Gouraja

Such a deep set of points. And so true. Where can someone get really raw and real and not feel judged but on BabyChakra. More power to you for telling it like it is.
