Your apple of eye is growing so fast, you would be in search of baby clothes almost every month as the baby outgrows his new clothes so frequently.; And deciding hastily on any piece will put at loss of money, time and energy, so here is a winter baby clothes guide at your rescue, purely out of my experience. ;While choosing baby clothes I look for comfort to the baby first and secondly convinience in making the baby wear it and remove it as well as diaper changing most importantly . Thereafter comes the wash care, quality and durability of the clothes. As i prefer to wash baby clothes in hot water at around 70 degree celsius, so I avoid tees with rubber prints and patch works. The rubber print chips off and crinkles. The patch work also comes off easily. Lastly affordability and availability. My favourite baby clothes brands are zero, babyhug, cucumber and Carter. Carter's baby clothes are the best out of all in my experience though a bit expensive.; For ethnic clothes I prefer Tiber taber dhoti kurta sets as they look super cute. Share your favourite baby clothes brand in the comments too. Winter baby clothes guide 1) swaddling New borns love to be swaddled. It gives them the warmth and restriction of the womb. I used to swaddle my baby upto 9 months. You can use old soft cotton saree and dupattas. Investing in a good quality quilted blanket swaddle is also a good idea. It feels cosy warm and snug. 2) sleeping bags Once the baby grows out of the morro's reflex and become a little more active in sleep so as to open up the tight swaddle, sleeping bags are a good option. 3) 2-3 pairs of age appropriate thermal wears. Always check the size chart and measure your baby with a tape before buying. 4) caps, mittens and socks.
Upto 9 months a 5 to 6 sets of thses will be sufficient for the season. But once the baby starts walking you will need mor pairs of socks. I have hoarded 10 pair of socks as dryong also takes time in monsoons and winters. 5) sandles and shoes fir toddlers 6) fleece lined sleep suits are very useful as they will keep the baby warm in any position even if the baby rolls out of the blanket on the bed. 7) 3 to 4 hooded full sleeved winter pull overs for active babies in play time 8) A hooded front open cardigan to pull on at rush times over a tee shirt. 9) fleece jogger pants are very helpful, as it also prevents bruises and abrasions from falling for naive walkers. 10) diaper pyjamas have some extra wide crotch-seat area and hence are comfortable for play time and sleep time 11) crotch snap buttoned full sleeved and full length Rompers are my favourites. I prefer them without footsies as the baby will outgrow the clothing too soon because of the footsie.; And with the crotch snap button its easy to change diapers anytime as you don't have to open the whole clothing from the chest and body which happens in case of chained and whole line of snap buttoned rompers. 12) crotch snap buttoned dungarees with a full sleeved tee also looks very cute and is comfortable as well as convinient.; 13) Full sleeved onesies are also preferbale over tee shirts as the snap button at the crotch prevent lifting of the cloth from the tummy. Pair it with a full length diaper crotch pyajama or a joggers and you are good to go. 14) layering is the rule of winters. So throwing on a hooded full sleeved cardigan over a half shirt or half sleeved onesie will be cosier for windy winter days Always focus to keep the chest and ears covered and warm. Toddlers love to play with water and also try to drink from glass. Never leave them in a wet clothing. If the chest area gets wet while drinking from glass, change immediately. Be very careful if you are using a room heater. I hope this guide helps you in shopping for your baby. Happy baby clothes shopping! Happy parenting!
