Q:

I read about solid introduction that upto 1 yr solids r just for babys learning about various textures of food and their main source of nutrition is bm or formula..so giving stomach filling watery meals or purees n skiping bm..isnt it compromising their nutrition. .how many agrees with this..baby should be exposed to various textures. .i believe in baby led weaning..including them to our family food..

Food before one is just for fun....you don't need to skip the feed. Even my doc said give them the taste of food and don't fill there stomach with the that. Transition of milk to solid should go slowly and steadily so that baby will not get any confusion and will get enough time for that.

Finger Foods: A Good Start to Baby Led Weaning!
No BM or formula should not be skipped. Instead additional meals and snacks should be added. They are ready to try the family food 8 months onwards minus the salt and sugar

Agree with Neha vij...start daal ka Pani, apple puree m mashed banana from 6 mnth onwards but not skip BM...min one year BM must h,

Hey Neha I totally agree with you, I'm into Traditional weaning. Only for the first week she had purees, quickly did the transition to handsmashed and then on family meals, Never offered her sugar, salt, dal Ka pani, biscuits etc.

No doubt upto one year breastmilk is the most important part of baby's nutrition but as babies grow they require more energy hence solids are also important and it also depends from child to child and their activities to meet their energy level.. . So please go according to your child's requirements dear.

As we r following family food menus so should we give chapati to our baby with some dip of dal or sabji without salt chilli so that they become used to it and eat easily. .n in breakfast what we cook ..in small quantity? ?actually i need suggestions from moms who r experience d..whethér traditional weaning ..cooking food for babies seperately then what we eat ..is it gud for their eating habits or let the baby eat what we eats..

neha Mathur cook for her separately chahal is too young for meal you are cooking for your family.. cook something which has no chillies.you can give her dal soup, vegetable soup, liquid upma, daliya with milk, roti and milk but everything in well grinded form so that she can Gulp it easily

At initial stage babies digestive system is not so strong to digest everything so just give her food that is easy to digest and in small portion don't reduce bm .. do not force feed try to learn what she likes and cook accordingly
