Stress has become a part and parcel of these days life. Stress can be caused due to many factors like too much of work pressure, unsuccessful relationships, unemployment and to be on the top is a ‘Motherhood’. Myself being a mother of 2 kids, I feel ‘motherhood’ is a most stressful job. No doubt, there are multiple happiness  and unconditional love attached to it, but somewhere around raising a child is not an easy task.

 

When a mother is in stress, the whole house becomes the mess. Therefore, I believe a  mother should take care of her brain health too which is the main organ of a body. A good health of a brain leads to a healthy body. Stressful life leads to the premature ageing of your brain. A Brain is a largest and a most complex organ of a body, and at the same time, it is a most important organ too. You all must have heard, “A happy mind creates a happy environment”, therefore to give a happy and peaceful environment to a kid, it is essential for a mommy to be happy and stress-free.

 

There are several foods that help in ensuring a good brain health.

 

So, let us look that how you can take care of your brain’s health by adding these 5 superfoods in your diet.

 

1. Flaxseeds

Flax seeds are the rich source of omega-3 fatty acid which is helpful in improving brain health. The consumption of Flaxseed is a good option for both vegetarians and vegans too. Flaxseeds have antioxidants and minerals which are beneficial for cardiovascular health. Apart from improving brain health, it improves digestion, promotes weight loss, support immune system and also improves skin and hair.

To add Flaxseed in your diet, buy whole flax seeds, grind it properly and then add it to smoothies, cereals, oatmeals, yogurt, and in baked dishes.

 

 

2. Blueberries

Blueberries help in maintaining the proper functioning of the brain and also improves memory. Stress accelerates the ageing process of the brain leading to a negative effect. Hence, the antioxidants that are present in Blueberries protect the brain health by getting accumulated in those areas of the brain that are essential for intelligence. Blueberries are also helpful in keeping your heart strong as they have less sugar and high fiber. 

Blueberries can be consumed either directly (after washing them with water) or along with any dessert.

Tomatoes are the easiest way to support your brain health. Tomatoes have lycopene and beta-carotene, which are the most powerful antioxidants to remove free radicals which leads to an inflammation of the brain. Tomatoes are good in preventing heart diseases.

The eggs are rich in protein and choline that are helpful in preventing the problem of memory loss. It also improves the communication between the brain cells which is a part of cognitive skills. During pregnancy, egg plays an important role in fetal development. Egg whites are the rich source of Vitamin D, B6 and B12, which is really good for a human body.

An egg can be consumed in a daily diet via several ways. An egg can be eaten in a boiled form also.

 

 

5. Walnut

Walnut is a dry fruit which is rich in omega-3 fatty acid. They are rich in antioxidants too which ensures the good health of a brain and prevents memory loss problem.
Walnuts are good for the heart too as they are low in cholesterol level.

The walnuts can be consumed daily in the morning. Please make sure, do not overeat walnut as it can disturb your digestive system.

 

Remember, in psychology, stress is a feeling of pressure. A small amount of stress is desired and beneficial to some extent, however, an excess of anything is never considered to be good. So, live a healthy life, as you are nurturing another life.
