There is a profound meaning in the title of this blog .It holds true for me as my daughter is the source of learning new things for me. Each day of motherhood educates me a new thing. Every day is filled with celebrated victories and some inglorious defeats. Thanks to my baby daughter! She gives me lessons that nobody  else could teach me. You can never be enough prepared for this journey no matter how many parenting books you read. But as soon as the baby enters your world, there are some concealed potentials that surface during  this journey.

What am I learning in this journey of motherliness? Here it goes.

Confidence

I became more confident after becoming a mom. I ignored what others thought of me and embraced the change in all aspects that in turn enhanced me as a person. The new responsibility gave me a sense of achievement and much needed self-assurance

Multitasking

I never thought I would be able to multitask, as I had always been a focused person. I believed in concluding one task with precision and then moving to the subsequent. But your babies teach you a lot. I learnt to function on a very little sleep

Being Patient

My 1st lesson of patience was when I had to burp her after every feed at the interval of every few hours. And the cluster feeds just drained every ounce of energy from me and tested my perseverance. I was overwhelmed with a lot of unwelcomed advices that had to be patiently ignored with a smile or a dumb face.

New definition of love

These little creatures have phenomenal powers of making you fall in love with their every action. My heart oozes out love for her even when she is just sleeping all curled up.

Strength

Speaking the truth, I wanted to cry when I took my baby for her first vaccination. Strength. This is what a baby teaches you. I really wanted to shatter when my baby used to cry inconsolably due to colic, but God gives you the power to handle such situation.

Discipline

Fitting a baby into a routine meant that I do my personal chores on time. My whole system of organization changed. A mommy’s schedule is decided by baby’s naptime, feeding time and playtime.

Creative

To cease all the baby sobs, every new parent becomes creative in one way or the other. Talking things to the baby that don’t make any sense, making faces just to see that tiny one smile, telling a story with voice modulations are just some of the things to begin with.

Empathic

I am now equipped with the ability to relate not just to my parents and new moms in the family, but to every new parent and parent to be.

Childbirth is transformational. It switches the lens on how you see the world. Motherhood has pushed me into a world where I feel too much and care too much. Life has so much more meaning when you are a parent .My baby pushed me out of my individual realms and taught me infinite new things.
