Going back to work after maternity leave can be a stressful experience for a new mum. Leaving the newborn baby back is challenging. Plus, getting ready to return to work can also be a challenging part of new motherhood. But like many other phases of parenting, being prepared with things like baby’s daycare essentials help to make things easier.t.

Read on for things you should add to your baby’s daycare essentials checklist.

5 Daycare Essentials That Are A Must Have

1. Wipes

A packet of wipes is a very important baby care product to add to your baby’s daycare essentials bag. Check once every few days to see when you’ll need to pack a refill package. You can include another packet in the daily diaper bag. These can be used in case you forget to bring a refill for your at-daycare stash.

2. Diapers

At the beginning of every week, bring in a pack of diapers to stay at daycare. If you’re not sure how many diapers your baby will need, pack about eight to ten per day. Also, pack a few extra diapers in your daily bag just in case. At the end of the week, you can assess how many diapers your baby used to understand an accurate count of how many diapers to send in the future.

3. Diaper Cream

Parents have their preferences on this one. However, you never know when diaper rash might happen to your little one. Choose a travel-size diaper rash cream to save space. You can also use petroleum jelly or an ointment to prevent diaper rash. Some parents don’t want the daycare to use any medication on their child while others do. It depends on the daycare and your preference, however, you must use your discretion about how often you need to send in a new cream or any at all.

4. Extra Clothes

Send two to three resealable plastic bags with an extra outfit in each. Don’t forget socks, shoes(in case they get wet), a cap, pants and other essential clothing. These extra clothes can be kept in your bag that stays at the daycare. Plastic bags are useful to put your baby’s dirty clothes. Keep in mind that some things you send to your little one’s daycare may get lost or ruined. Stains are bound to happen hence avoid sending anything difficult to get replaced.

5. Bedding

Some daycare centres require you to provide bedding for your child. They may have a crib for your baby to rest. To be on the safe side, pack an extra set of each. You can pack the extras in your bag that you will drop off at the daycare centre.

When it comes to sending baby’s daycare essentials, you must label everything. You can pick from a wide range of options for labelling your child’s diaper essentials, clothes, blankets, and other important supplies. For plastic bags and diaper boxes, you can use permanent markers. For labelling bottles, you can use masking tape or wide rubber bands.

Another tip to keep in mind is to keep a notepad and pen handy in the outside pocket of your daily diaper bag or start a checklist on your phone to note any supplies that need to be replenished. Make it a habit to review this list each evening when you are packing for the next day.

To ease your transition from home to work while your baby is taken care of, ensure that you pack the essentials in advance using these tips.
