Moreover, her excellent on-screen acting prowess and the savvy and chic way she delivers her dialogues make her that one-of-a-kind actor in the industry who everyone adores and is fond of.

On the personal front, the diva of Bollywood is a proud mum to her two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, and is a true inspiration to many mums worldwide. The actor often shares glimpses of her kids’ daily lives on Instagram and expresses her parenthood experiences with her fans.

Kareena also never shies away from flaunting her post-pregnancy body and is highly vocal about the challenges of balancing kids and work. Despite the ups and downs, Kareena has never failed to amaze fellow parents with how she nurtures and guides her children to be their best selves.

As we celebrate the actor’s 42nd birthday today, let’s have a look at some of the key parenting lessons expressed by Kareena over the past years.

6 Valued Parenting Lessons From Kareena Kapoor Khan

Pregnancy And Motherhood Is A Challenge For Women, So Seek Help When Needed

Kareena believes that pregnancy and motherhood are the most challenging yet fulfilling experiences in a woman’s life. The actor said in an interview, “Motherhood is a difficult role, and it’s common for women to go through a set of emotions not only while giving birth but also while raising their babies. Often it pressurises the mums and leads to adverse consequences like postpartum depression.”

The actor further remarked, “The key here is to remain calm, be present at the moment, and feel the bliss of giving birth to your little one. If needed, get help from the people around you, don’t be hesitant.”

Kareena also shared one of her experiences and said, “I remember some long days and nights with hardly any sleep. Some nights were frustrating as I tried hard to soothe my crying baby, but some days were simply bliss and I just treasured the new life that I was able to bring into the world.”

Breastfeeding And Vaccination Are Crucial

Kareena has strongly advocated the importance of breastfeeding and vaccination for children. Talking about breastfeeding, the actor shared in an interview, “We need to feed our newborns in the best way that we can, with our breast milk.” The actor also suggested, “To give your little one the best start of their life, start breastfeeding within the first hour of giving birth, and feed your baby nothing else but breastmilk.”

She has also emphasised that breastfeeding your baby for at least the first six months of their life helps provide all essential nutrients and boosts the immunity of the baby, and it also creates a strong connection of love and care between the mum and the little one.

To stress the regular vaccination for babies, the actor also recently became an advocate of the UNICEF Campaign ‘Every Child Alive’ and endorses the importance of immunisation and breastfeeding for babies under the age of one year.

A Happy Mum Raises A Happy Child

According to Kareena, the happiness of every child depends on the happiness of the mum. If the mother is healthy, happy, and protected, she will be able to take better care of her baby. In an interview, Khan said, how working mums often deal with the guilt of not being present or caring for their child enough. She said that the most important thing is to believe in yourself. “Be happy, belief in yourself, and your baby will automatically flourish,” she added.

Additionally, in a recent interview, Kareena spoke about balancing out one’s interests, likes, and work along with taking care of a baby post-delivery. She shared that she takes pride in being a working mum.

Stay Away From Superstitions And Take Aid From Medical Practitioners

Another essential parenting lesson to learn from Kareena is to always stay away from stereotypical beliefs and superstitions that might put your baby in danger. Always seek advice and support from medical practitioners before taking any decision about your baby’s health.

She also believes childbirth should always be done under the supervision of skilled doctors and attendants. The actor says, “There are certain harmful practices and beliefs that might put our little ones in danger, and we must challenge these thoughts. Entrust yourself to skilled professionals who are trained to look after you and your baby after delivery. “

Parenting Is Equally The Father’s Responsibility Too

Kareena has always stressed equal parenting. She believes that parenting is an equal responsibility shared by both mums and dads. She has rightly said, “It’s a common belief there are a lot of things that only mums are responsible for, like feeding your child, but I think even the father can take equal part in every role.”

Speaking about her experience and the support of her husband Saif Ali Khan, the actor said, “Saif is especially understanding and respectful to working women. He gives me the space to do what I want, and supports me in everything.”

Teach Your Kids About Gender Equality From An Early Age

Kareena Kapoor Khan also believes that kids should be informed about gender equality from a young age. They should know that in a household both mums and dads can go to work. Drawing from one of her experiences, the actor shared, “Whenever I put on my shoes, Taimur asks, where am I going. My answer is always, I am going to shoot or an event because of my work. So I am teaching them that abba works, and so does amma. I think growing up, they will learn the fact that only the man of the house doesn’t contribute to the household, but the woman does too.”

When it comes to parenting, it’s safe to say that Bebo rocks every bit of it, and all parents should take notes from her! Here’s wishing the diva of Bollywood a very Happy Birthday again! May she keep spoiling us with cute snaps of Taimur and Jeh on Instagram all year around.
