4 Simple Ways to Practice Gratitude As a New Mum

Many new mums find it difficult to express their emotions or constantly feel anxious after their little one’s arrival. This not only affects their health but also hampers their relationship with their loved ones and children. As a new mum, it’s absolutely OK to feel overwhelmed, but one of the ways to tackle this emotion is by practicing gratitude. This can help you change the tone of your day, and also form a special bond with your newborn baby.

To make things easier for you, we have listed five ways you can practice gratitude daily to enhance your overall well-being and reduce stress.

  • Keep a gratitude journal: Keep a diary or a journal, where you list down the little things in life that give you joy, and special memories created with your baby. Recalling these moments of gratitude will help you interweave gratefulness into your life.
  • Share your gratitude with others: Several studies have found that expressing gratitude can strengthen your relationships. So the next time your partner, a family friend, or a close friend does something special for you, be sure to let them know that you are thankful for their help.
  • Indulge in self-care: As a new mum, you need lots of pamper sessions and adequate rest to heal your body. So dedicate a little bit of time every day to indulge in an activity that helps you relax. For instance, meditate for a few minutes, or go out for a walk with your baby.
