Ram Charan’s wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela’s maternity fashion is an amalgamation of vibrance, chic, and minimalism, just like her own personality. Rather than embracing Western wear, Upasna chose to take the traditional way to kick off her maternity style, and we are in awe of all her looks.

From vibrant hues to soft-toned and uber-elevated styles, Upasna has been giving us major maternity fashion goals and we bet no mumma-to-be would want to miss out on them. Recently, her look at the Oscars 2023 event also went viral, where she arrived in style, donned in an elegant ivory silk saree and statement accessories.

Read on as we bring you more looks from her maternity closet, which you can easily add to your wardrobe too.

Take Cues From Upansana’s Maternity Fashion

Oversized Kaftan

From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Bipasha Basu, Bollywood mums love a good kaftan moment. We are glad to see Upasana jump into this trend during her pregnancy too.

During their recent visit to Los Angeles for the Oscars, Upasana and Ram Charan met with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and got clicked together for a promotional video. For the shoot, Upasana went for an oversized, patterned red flowy kaftan. She styled the look with minimal makeup, a hint of smokey eyes, and statement earrings.

The entire look is fuss-free yet striking and elegant and is absolutely perfect for mid-day hangouts with friends and family members.

Classic Silk Saree

Ram Charan’s film RRR took an Oscar home last night, but we cannot forget the iconic red carpet look served by his wife Upasana. The mum-to-be walked into the event, wearing a classic white saree, made with handwoven silk, which was created from recycled scraps.

Upasana completed her look with a handmade potli and floral ruby ornaments. Plus, a dainty bindi, a mauve lip shade, and a messy low bun rounded off her elegant and traditional look.

Floral Maxi Dress

Floral maxi dresses is that one style trend that never loses its shine. It’s available in various patterns and colours, and is by far the most-preferred clothing item by mums-to-be, and Upasana believes it too.

During one of her photoshoots with her husband Ram Charan, the mum-to-be gave us a glam-enriched look by wearing a black and floral-printed maxi dress. Upasana completed her look with bold eyes and nude lipstick, and added minimal accessories to amp up the overall style.

The best part about maxi dresses is that they are comfortable, easy to carry, and also offer a lot of space for your bump to rest comfortably. Moreover, you can wear a maxi dress in all seasons with a few switch-ups. During summer, put on the dress with some casual jewellery and let its flowy structure catch on the breeze, and in the winter layer up with an overcoat to stay warm and cosy.

Formal White Wide-Leg Jumpsuit

During one of her business meets, Upasana chose to jazz things up and decided to go for a chic and minimal white formal jumpsuit. She layered the jumpsuit with a white sequined jacket and completed her look with fuschia heels to add a pop of colour.

She also went for a dewy no-makeup makeup look and added a pair of white earrings to give her that boss-lady look.

Floor Length Anarkali

Upasana has really taken wearing traditional clothes during pregnancy to the next level. During her godh bharai, the mum-to-be wore a floral-printed Anarkali with a red embroidered dupatta. The classic yet simple look really brought out her radiance and fit perfectly with the intimate ceremony.

As for her makeup, Upasana once again took the minimal route with nude lipstick and light makeup and sealed the look with a pair of dangling earrings.

Every mum-to-be looks for comfortable fashion during pregnancy. The good news is that designers nowadays are heading toward inclusivity while creating their labels, and dressing your baby bump has become an easier task than before.

In addition to choosing comfortable wear, we have included a list of tips that you can consider while choosing outfits during pregnancy.

4 Maternity Fashion Tips To Keep In Mind

  • Stick to breathable fabrics: It’s crucial to maintain your body temperature during pregnancy and avoid overheating or sweating. A general rule of thumb? Stick to breathable fabrics that you can layer and adjust, according to the temperature.
  • Opt for glowy tops: Flowy tops skim your frame and fit nicely over your baby bump. If possible, go for oversized button-up shirts as they are nursing-friendly and will come in handy post-delivery too.
  • Say ‘Yes!’ to maternity bands: Maternity bands can be a lifesaver during pregnancy. You can simply layer a maternity band over your unbuttoned jeans, and you will have a comfy, snug fit in your favourite denim.
  • Accessorise more: Invest in accessories that add a punch to all of your outfits. Get bold earrings and patterned scarves to amp up your looks throughout the trimesters, if you feel comfortable.

Conclusion

Upasana is definitely taking maternity fashion to a whole new level, and we are here for it. Her styles are incredibly classic, chic, and comfortable, and help flaunt your baby bump in the best possible way. You can easily incorporate these looks into your maternity closet and do keep the maternity fashion tips in mind to ensure comfort and breathability.
