Actors Vatsal Sheth and Ishita Dutta are all set to become parents. They announced their pregnancy in March this year. “It’s amazing! People are talking and asking me about the baby that we will be welcoming soon,” said Vatsal Sheth in an interview.

“When the baby will be born, that’s when I guess there will be more changes in my life,” he added.

Vatsal talks about having a baby and says, “We have started watching baby videos and are learning a lot about newborns. All the conversations now are around it.”

Like Vatsal Sheth, all dads-to-be are about to embark on an incredible adventure called fatherhood. As you count down the days to your little one’s arrival, you may feel both excited and apprehensive. Don’t worry, though, we’ve got you covered!

Here are some useful tips to help you adjust to the changes that fatherhood brings.

Fun Tips to Help To-Be-Dads Adjust To Changes When Having A Baby

Embrace the ‘Dad Bod’

It’s not only mums whose bodies go through a change during pregnancy, some dads develop the ‘dad belly’ too! Yes, one of the first changes to-be-dads might notice is the emergence of the ‘dad bod’.

While you may be tempted to fight it, remember that it’s a badge of honour. Embrace your new physique, and take this opportunity to bond with your fellow dads over a shared love of dad-friendly workouts and healthy eating habits.

Become a Baby Gear Guru

The world of baby gear can be confusing, but it’s essential to learn the ins and outs of strollers, car seats, and baby monitors. Impress your partner and friends with your newfound knowledge, and take pride in assembling that crib like a pro.

Practice makes perfect!

Master the Art of Swaddling

If you’ve never swaddled a baby before, you may feel like you’re attempting to fold a delicate origami masterpiece. Fear not! With a little practice, you’ll become a swaddling master, ensuring your baby feels cosy and secure.

Remember, a well-swaddled baby equals a well-rested baby (and parents!).

Create a Dad Cave

Preparing For A Baby

Vatsal Seth talks about preparing for a baby and one of the things he says is, “Earlier when we got our new house, I was going to use that room for myself, but now it will be the baby’s room,”

While it’s essential to support your partner and bond with your baby, it’s equally important to have a space for yourself.

Like Vatsal Seth, if you too have to give up your space to make room for a baby, what you can do is transform even a corner of your living room into a dad cave – a sanctuary where you can unwind, relax, and recharge your batteries. Fill your dad cave with your favourite things, whether it’s sports memorabilia, a gaming console, or a comfy recliner.

Develop a Dad-Friendly Routine

With a new baby in the house, routines will change. Create a daily schedule that incorporates diaper duty, baby naps, and playtime, while still allowing you to maintain your hobbies and interests.

By establishing a routine, you’ll help make the transition to fatherhood smoother and more enjoyable.

Embrace Your Inner Chef

As a new dad, you’ll want to support your partner in every way possible, and one of the best ways to do that is by taking on cooking responsibilities. Learn to whip up some healthy, delicious meals that the whole family can enjoy.

Bonus: Cooking can be a fun way to bond with your little ones as they grow and begin to explore new flavours.

Build a Support Network

Parenthood can be overwhelming, so it’s crucial to have a group of fellow dads and friends to share advice, experiences, and dad jokes. Join local dad groups or online forums to expand your support network and make new friends who are going through the same journey.

Learn to Embrace The Chaos

Life as a new dad will be filled with messy, unexpected, and hilarious moments. Don’t be afraid to embrace the chaos and laugh at yourself along the way. A sense of humour will make the challenges of fatherhood more enjoyable and help you create lasting memories with your little one.

Becoming a dad is an exciting, life-changing experience. By embracing the changes, building a support network, and maintaining a sense of humour, you’ll be well-prepared to tackle the challenges and joys of fatherhood.

Remember, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed at times – it’s all part of the journey. So take a deep breath, trust yourself, and enjoy the ride. You’ve got this, Dad! Welcome to the world of sleepless nights, endless love, and unforgettable memories.

Happy parenting!
