We all know the magical quality of Moong daal. It is so easy to digest and completely packed with nutrients. That's why when I started solids for my boy' my first choice and still is anything and everything with Moong daal.
I have fed him: 1) moong daal ka paani (6+months)
Cook daal in pressure cooker until two whistles and then mix the cooked pulse in boiling water. once boiled let the mix settle for 10mins. You will see a layer of yellow coloured water on top of the daal mix . Take it or with a spoon carefully and feed it to baby. Super healthy and super nutritious daal water is ready. 2) moong daal + rice + any daal (like green moong or masoor ) ( Can be fed from 8+months)
This is also very healthy and easy to digest . The best part is it is also quite filling. Just cook the three ingredients mixed with turmeric over two whistles and then mash it in a bowl ,mix ghee and lil bit of salt and we are ready to feed. :) 3) Moong daal Soup (10+ months)
This is by far my most favourite. All you need ka lil bit of Moong daal like 2-3tbsp and select your fav veggies. I generally use bottle gourd, potato, carrot and peas . Pour water in the cooker add all the veggies and daal and half a tsp of turmeric + lil hit of salt and maybe a punch of pepper. I use pepper coz I want my baby to get used to lil spicy food.Cook it in a pressure cooker until two whistles and until the the pressure releases. Once done take out the mix and smash is with a spoon or a smasher and lil water if the mix is too thick. Remember We want a porridge like consistency. And Tadaa your healthy and nutritional soup is ready 😊 I started using these recipes from the time SAMARTH was introduced to solid food and trust me they are as useful until now even when he is 1+yr old now. The best part about these recipes is that it takes maximum 15-20mins to cook and is super filling without causing any gas or stomach issues in babies.
