Swollen feet, known as Edema in medical terms, is a health condition when fluid gets accumulated in the areas like legs, feet, face, and hands. Swollen feet are common during pregnancy, but it is discomforting for every expecting mother. Edema is more likely to occur during the third trimester of pregnancy. However, this health condition is not associated with any pregnancy complications.

Swelling happens because the growing uterus interrupts the blood flow and causes more fluid to accumulate in the veins of the legs. And this extra liquid goes up to the nearby tissue causing Edema.
