Rani Mukherji is one of the most beloved actresses in Bollywood. She made her screen debut in 1996, and since then she hasn’t stopped delivering blockbuster movies. Recently, Rani also made a comeback with a power-packed performance in her new movie, Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, and once again reminded us that she is one of those few actors who is a rare combination of commercial success and formidable talent.

On the personal front, Rani is busy raising her darling daughter Adira and often talks about how her partner Aditya Chopra and her daughter help her maintain a work-life balance. As she turns 45 today, we decided to look back on some of the most powerful Rani Mukerji quotes that redefine motherhood and also bring out the very essence of this journey.

5 Rani Mukherji Quotes To Empower Every Mum

“There Is No Greater Relationship Or Emotion As Compared To The Bond Between A Mum And Her Child”

In an exclusive behind-the-scenes video shared with IMDb during the promotion of Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, Rani said, “This movie relates to one emotion, which is a mum’s emotion. It is also a reminder that to all the children in the world, there is no greater relationship or emotion than with a mum.”

Rani also added, “You forget to say thank you to your mums and take them for granted. I am hoping that after watching this film, a lot of daughters and sons will reach out to their mums and give them tight hugs and kisses.”

The actor also revealed that as a mum, it was painful to put herself in the shoes of Debika (Rani’s character in the movie Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway) as she cannot imagine being separated from her child. We bet all mums feel the same and agree that there’s no relationship in the world that is as special as the one shared by a mum and her child.

“No Mum Should Feel Guilty About Getting Back To Work”

Mum guilt is real, and it is an emotion experienced by almost every parent. Rani candidly spoke about mum guilt in an interview and expressed that no woman should feel guilty about going to work after becoming a mother.

She added, “During pregnancy and after childbirth, a woman needs to give herself a break to recover. But this doesn’t mean that you need to feel guilty about getting back to work.”

The actor ended by saying, “Both mumps and dads should not feel guilty about working. Because a child is brought up together by both parents, and they are just doing what’s better for the kid’s future.”

“When Children Know That Their Parents Are Working Hard, They Start Valuing Things More”

Rani also believes that parents need to make their kids understand why they have to go to work. She says by explaining the situation to them, kids are better able to understand why and for whom their parents are working hard.

This in turn helps children value things in life a little bit more and also learn how to be grateful and kind from a young age.

“Mums Are Always Judged, And This Thinking Should Change”

Ever since she embraced motherhood, Rani has proactively spoken about the struggles of a working mum. In a video interview with Gulf News, Rani said, “Mums are always judged.”

She added, “When a child grows up and does well, people always appreciate the father’s upbringing. But if the child, for whatever reason is spoiled, it’s the mothers who are blamed, and considered at fault.”

The actor also believes that it is important to challenge these sexist stereotypes and rule them out of society.

“You Start Living For Your Child, As If They Have Given A New Life To You”

A lot of things change in your life when you become a mum. As for Rani, her life completely changed as she held her daughter in her arms for the first time, and believed that she couldn’t live or breathe without her.

Like every mum, Rani started living for her child, as if it was not her who gave birth to her little one, but her baby gave a new life to her. Regardless, Rani revealed that she is eternally grateful to the Almighty for bringing Adira into her life, and she wishes to slowly embrace both the ups and downs of motherhood one day at a time.

Conclusion

Well, when it comes to parenting, it’s safe to say that Rani is finding her ground and learning and inspiring at every step of the way. We hope you get inspired by these Rani Mukherji quotes and they empower you to take on the challenges of motherhood with a brave face.

Here’s wishing the Bollywood diva a very Happy Birthday again! May we get to see more of her power-packed performances in the upcoming years.
